2018 Event Highlights

July 4-7, 2018 - Free Entertainment, Rides & Concessions

• July 4,  Celebration begins with Parade at 10:45 AM along Broadway; Games for All Ages at 2 PM; Firecracker 5-mile race (starts 7:45 am at high school, contact Granville Rotary for info.) Street fair opens at noon. Street fair, rides, concessions and music until 11 PM.
• July 5, Streetfair, rides, concessions and music all day starting at noon.
• July 6, Fireworks at Wildwood Park, starts at 8 PM with live music by the Conspiracy Band and select food vendors. Sponsored by the Granville Community Foundation. Street fair, rides, concessions and music from noon until 11 PM.
• July 7, Granville's Got Talent at 6:00 pm.  Street fair, rides, concessions and music from noon until 10 PM. Festival ends.
• The Kiwanis Club of Granville volunteers host the 4-day festival including parade, fireworks, rides, concessions and free entertainment as a service to the community and as a fundraiser to support the club's projects and programs for children

Parade begins at 10:45 am along Broadway from West Broadway near Wildwood Park heading east, ending at Granger St.

Purchase your 2018 Granville July 4th Commemorative T-shirt at the Granville Farmer's Market on Saturday's from 8-noon starting June 2.  Adult and Kids' sizes. All proceeds benefit Kiwanis' projects for children in our community.

Did you know? The Kiwanis Club of Granville volunteers host the Granville 4th of July Celebration each year!  Contact us if you'd like to be a part of our club and this outstanding community tradition.

 

Description of event:

 

During the four-day festival, our downtown Granville, OH is transformed into our festival on Broadway Street, conveniently located in the heart of historic downtown Granville, Ohio.

Local restaurants and businesses remain open during the celebration. The Fireworks at Wildwood Park, sponsored by the Granville Community Foundation, are a short 15-min walk to the west along Broadway. Public parking is available along most streets. The parade on July 4th passes through downtown Granville along Broadway, from west to east, starting at Wildwood Park and ending at Granger Street. Public restrooms are located near the ticket box office, and across from the Post Office. The daily entertainment is free, including the Granville's Got Talent, Whit's Banana Split Eating Contest, Squaredancing and the annual July 4th Game's For all Ages! Granville High School Reunions and family picnics abound. The businesses are open and the restaurants are busy. The streetfair is a celebration for the 4th of July, as well as the largest fundraiser for the local Kiwanis club who hosts the event completely by its volunteers! Support them at their Kiwanis Food Tent and buy a commemorative July 4th T-shirt. You can identify them by their yellow Volunteer Event Staff shirt. The Granville Kiwanis Club hosts the event and works closely with the local fire and police departments to provide and safe, family-friendly event. We work

hard to keep the area clean and are respectful of our downtown businesses and homeowners. We appreciate your support and invite you to join us!

 

Public Port-a-Johns are located in the parking area behind the Police Station, next to the Post Office. Please help our businesses by using these facilities!

Zero Waste Recycling stations located throughout the streetfair.
